Institutional Initiatives for Electoral Literacy
Innovative Initiatives | The university’s Electoral Literacy club (ELC) implemented various programs to promote voting awareness and ethical practices. |
Voter Registration Drives | The Club organizes voter registration drives on campus in collaboration with the local election commission. |
Polling Place Volunteers | Faculty members were as volunteer as poll workers on Election Day, supporting district election administration. In setting up voting booths, verifying voter IDs, and distributing ballots etc. |
Outreach to marginalized Communities | The Club engages with organizations serving marginalized communities, such as transgender individuals, commercial sex workers, disabled persons, and senior citizens. Students assist these groups with voter registration. |
Community Engagement | The ELC members visit the local SC/ST/OBC/DT/NT community educate them on the voting process. |
National Voters Day | We celebrate National Voter’s Days on 25th January on the campus of University and sensitize university students, faculty and staff. |
Engaging Activities | The ELC hosts competition like quizzes and elocution contest, with winners recommended for sate level activities. |
Support for new Voters | The New Student Voters are provided with a badge with the logo. Proud to be Voter. Ready to Vote” We have prepared lots of slogans such as No Vote To be left behind. |
Celebration | National Voter’s Day is observed on January 25, engaging students, faculty, and staff in a voting pledge campaign. |
Voter Registration Drive | The University organizes voter registration camps in January, assisting students in filling out Election Department Form No. 6. Completed forms are submitted to the district election officer for processing. |
